This is a hold-over from the big boom that occurred a couple years ago, where the service industry was crying for people but couldn't find local people. I would agree that many of these guys are a lot friendlier than some of the local staff. This looks like a warm and inviting coffee house, and I'd definitely order a double-double there if I could :) There’s loads of ex-pat workers here too in coffee shops and the like.
