There are many small shops like this one here in Jeddah that sell men’s traditional clothing and accessories. These ghutras (all white) and shemaghs (red and white) come in various sizes and designs. The igal (black hoop) worn on top of the scarf is seen below at the bottom of the photo. I found this nice post that explains the various articles of traditional dress if you’d like to know more.
About This Blog, and About Me: Susie of Arabia

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is KSA's 2nd largest city and is located on its west coast, right on the Red Sea. I moved here in 2007 with my Saudi hubby and teenage son. This journal reflects the things that I see here, life through my eyes, my lens.
Please be sure to also visit my other blog, SUSIE'S BIG ADVENTURE, which relates my experiences, thoughts, and observations about living in Saudi Arabia.

hi
i`m abu muhammad from malaysia
can u help me?
i need website or blog from saudi that i can buy shemagh n bish=ht..plz help me..
thanx
It is funny how these “ghutras and shemaghs/shomaghs” cost as much as 7 British Pounds and are sold here for more than 150 Saudi Riyals and sometimes can go up to 400 SR for brand names like Dunnhil when its the same 7GBP price as manufactured and imported from (mostly) England.
and it is a shame that the most common clothing for men here are never produced in Saudi Arabia.
The clothing, of course, is different, but the presentation is similar to American men’s shop a generation or 2 ago.
