Bab Makka Market

Old historic downtown Jeddah is home to one of the oldest open air marketplaces called Bab Makka, which means Door to Mecca.  The narrow streets are blocked from traffic and are lined with booth after booth of various vendors offering wares from fresh produce to clothing to meats to jewelry, for blocks and blocks.   Many shops and restaurants decorate the outside of their businesses during Ramadan with a festive print like you see here all over this booth.

I’m sure many countries and cities have their own form of this type of market.
