Eggplants

I couldn’t help but notice this unusual scene on a side street in Jeddah – a large tray filled with a couple dozen beautiful eggplants, perched on top of an old fan.  Next to it on the ground, 8 large bags of I don’t know what.  I believe this was the back of a restaurant.

  1. Hi Everyone! Thanks for your comments. My hubby makes the best eggplant – fried slices of eggplant topped with a ground beef mixture and a yogurt sauce. It’s divine!

I think those are bags of charcoal, I miss fresh produce.

They look beautifully fresh. The first eggplant I ever tried was in Turkey, three decades ago. Marvelous with olive oil and yogurt.
