A beautiful landmark mosque on the Red Sea near downtown Jeddah has an interesting roofline which looks like dozens of tents.

    That’s the Jufalli Mosque, famous for having the “chop chop” square right next to it.

  3. Hi Elaine – I’m not really sure when this mosque was built, but it is the really old section of Jeddah and it looks much newer than most of the other buildings. And the roof has that modern edge to it too.

    I was in Jeddah 1992 . Airline workers temporary posting during Haj session.
    The mosque my nostalgic and the Jeddah Hilton where we have our farewell dinner.By the way Thank You very much for sharing about Jeddah .

    The buttresses on the walls make it look older in design, but it is clean and sharp enough to be new.
