Adding On

Adding On

I happened to notice this building that was under construction – adding more floors onto the already existing structure.  The addition is being carefully crafted to match the style of the building below.  Many buildings here are built of brick, then completely covered in tile, marble or stone, instead of painted stucco.  Like many buildings in business districts here, the first floor of the building houses businesses, and the upper floors serve as residences.

  1. Hi Elaine – Actually Saudi Arabia supposedly is one country that does not experience natural disasters, like hurricanes, flooding or earthquakes, however I would consider drought a natural disaster, and I’m not sure if sandstorms would qualify!

Hi Marahm – I’ll try to do that!

The design is pleasing to the eye. I hope you’ll revisit this building when it is finished, and post a photo of it.

  3. Elaine says:

The stone facing is nice. Maybe it’s too dry for stucco type material. I never hear about Arabia having earthquakes, so it must be safe for that.
