Private villas in Jeddah are all totally surrounded by huge walls that afford total privacy for its residents. Therefore gates are a really big business here. Many are custom made out of your choice of materials and designs. This villa gate always catches my eye, likely because of the striking cerulean blue color it is painted along with the walls it is attached to. I’ve never seen the villa inside…

    I love this gate. Suppose it’s imortant to have privacy especially for the women of the villa. Can they uncover more at home?

    I always enjoyed looking at the decorative gates, with their unique designs, each different and distinct from their neighbors.

    Most of the Western expatriots did not like Saudi architecture; they called it Saudi-Gaudy, but I loved it!
