It’s All in the Details

dscf3655-1-copy

This was taken in a new not-quite-yet-open section of the Red Sea Mall in Jeddah.   The theme of this section has a very Moroccan feel to it, with beautiful blue patterned tiles and 3-D detailing on the walls, plus beautiful glass wall lamps, and fountains.   It will be magnificent once it’s open and I’ll try to get more photos of the place to show you once it’s finished.

    Nice information about Moroccan tiles.

  2. Fishing Guy says:

    Susie: That is very colorful.

  3. Jerry M says:

Is this an open courtyard or an exterior space?

Given the sandstorms in Saudi Arabia, are most malls completely enclosed?

(and I do agree with others here that this looks like an attractive space.)

    • Hi Jerry – This is an interior space. It’s part of whole new wing of the mall. You can make it out very well in the photo, but at the top are windows which begin the totally glassed in ceiling, letting in tons of natural light.

  4. Bill B. says:

    Look forward to seeing them.

  5. Marahm says:

This is so beautiful! I’m s sucker for blue, tile mosaic in the Middle Eastern style. I could LIVE in a place like this, and never get tired of it.

  6. Geogypsy says:

The tile work is magnificent. Such an artistic people. Too bad their creativity can’t extend to women. You be careful Susie.

  7. Brad says:

If only the malls here could look like this one.
