A Lot Going On: Busy Street Scene

DSCF3320 1 copy

Madinah Road runs north and south for many miles through the city of Jeddah.  There is construction everywhere in the city, and you can see two buildings going up on either side of the street.  The big arch with the huge ad and the black and white checkered pattern which spans over the road is actually a pedestrian walkway overpass.  Mercedes dealership on the right, the enormous Habitat Hotel on the left, and horrendous bumper to bumper traffic – this is a typical busy street scene in Jeddah.

“Madinah Road runs north and south for many miles through the city of Jeddah.”

    Kilometers!

  2. Grami says:

Yeah that’s true, the traffic jam in Madinah road is unbelievable. When I was working in Jeddah’s University some seven years ago I was living 40 km away and commute on a highway and I kid you not my colleague who lives less than 10 km from the university and uses that road takes more time than me.

The problem in my opinion is because there’s no proper public transportaion in Jeddah or anywhere else in SA.

Really thank you Sussie for your lovely pictures, I miss Jeddah so much.

  3. Geogypsy says:

Damn, that looks worse than LA or Chicago.

  4. Bill B. says:

Looks like a scene from “everywhere” these days.

  5. Jerry M says:

When I see this kind of photo, I am so glad I live close to work and most of the road is a rural road.
