These walls surrounding a villa in the countryside caught my eye. It is located in the hills outside of Taif, a mountainous region famous for its agricultural produce. I really wish I could have seen inside. I loved the low rock wall in front of the home and the wild brush combined with the pink and yellow flowering bushes planted to complete the landscape. Taif has beautiful skies and gets more annual rainfall than the city where I live, Jeddah.

Susie, I wish I could have seen inside too! Nice picture of a beautiful villa.
Just beautiful, I love the walled gardens of the Arab countries.
The walls look like they are a home in themselves. A beautiful place to live..
Great shot.. 🙂
I spied a beautiful flowering tree, is that jacaranda?
With such fine fencing, I would be curious of this place’s interiors.
It’s a long weekend here, hope you enjoy your weekend.

Good eye! Yes, I did see lots of beautiful jarandas in bloom here. I tried to get some photos, but none came out very good as we were zooming by in the car all the time!
a super sky capture…like the villa against it…adds some nice shapes to the shot.
have a wonderful weekend susie.
I prefer a more natural setting outside. I know that is an American view.
Are most of the ‘villas’ with walls like this designed so that you cannot see the house at all?
Many of the villas are two or three stories, so those kind you can see the top floors over the walls. Since this one is out in the country, it’s set on a bigger piece of land and is probably set back a bit and more of a ranch style house, I’m guessing. Most of the villas in the city take up more space within the walls and don’t really have that much yard/garden area. In fact many of the villas I’ve seen have that area completely tiled in anyway. I would prefer more of an outside area myself.
Susie: What nice skies showing over the wall.
Very beautiful!!!
Excellent shot as always!
Nice blog
Susie, that sky is gorgeous, and the structure very handsome. I like the complement of the yellow with the blue, accented by those white fluffy clouds.

That is an amazing sky over magnificent walls. Too bad you didn’t get to see the inside…I imagine it would be most excellent.
What a fantastic house. Lovely photo
Have a great week

Very interesting compositon.
wow thats really incredible, is this typical!?
I love this shot, I would be interested to see what is behind the walls too.
The tree peeking over adds a wonderful spark of colour.
Beautiful skies and the wall almost gives it a fairy tale quality for some reason. I’d also like to see what’s behind the wall.
That is a beautiful place. Reminds me of Scottsdale, AZ and the mansions there.
Wow, looks like a nice place to live.
Absolutely gorgeous skies. It does have the feel of an epic film location.
The whole scene is very mysterious.
A magnificent villa, large by any standard. The clouds really add to the shot.
Good setting for your skywatch.

Beautiful sky and a beautiful wall! Glad I came by 🙂
That ain’t what we call “villas.” Yes, it would be nice to see inside…but your photo gives us a picture of possibilities. Xeriscaping is catching on here, too. I’ve thought of doing it, but I’m afraid my neighbors would run me out of town!
What a cool building, and I love those clouds, great pic Susie.
Have a great weekend.
