Not Something You’d Expect to See…

I enjoy posting images of normal things that people around the world may not necessarily expect to see in a strict Islamic country like Saudi Arabia. While there are many times I may feel that having fun here seems to be forbidden, there is in fact a sense of humor and a goofy side to people here. I was delighted to see this car in traffic in front of us. It was just so unexpected in this sometimes too serious-seeming society.

haha this is funny! i’ll never forget how worked up the city gets whenever February, the season of hearts, comes. Mutawas and police are scattered stopping cars with even a hint of heart (stickers, etc.) displayed on cars to scold them that such celebration is not allowed in the country.

Maybe they’re government spies in disguise looking for people taking photos surreptitiously. (Boy, did I have a hard time spelling that last word – thank goodness for spell-check!)…

Cute photo. If you get arrested, send address and we’ll send a get-out-of-jail card.

    ;-))

Nice shot. Now a really creative driver would have at least one bear that would wave back at you.
