    Oh this is just lovely!

  3. Dina says:

Coral!? No kidding! Well then, amazing what they’ve done with coral.

  4. Glennis says:

Built out of coral, surely that is unusual. I have never heard of it as a building material, is it strong enough to stand up to the weight of the roof over head.
They do look interesting shops to visit and find bargains in.

  5. Gaelyn says:

I do like the architecture. Never heard of coral for building material. Even the upper floors look high ceilinged. The Patriarch outside visiting while the women are stuck inside.

  6. Jacob says:

Sounds not unlike some of our older, larger cities. Or areas controlled by the Mafioso!

    Great shot!

  7. What a shocker! says:

My God, Allah! It’s that blinking Bin Gadeem! I never thought that old chap would have his shop featured in this blog, let alone being published on the internet! The perfumes he sells are unique, so I recommend all tourists of this metropolis ‘Jedda’ to pay this old smiley chap a visit, and purchase some of his exotic aoud and musk.
    My salams to Bin Gadeem.

Great pictures to see the daily life and shopping opportunities. How about a look inside some shops? Persian rugs, gold jewelry, water smoking pipes, etc? Love your blog!
