Mall Lounge for Ramadan

DSCF7255 1
This indoor tent was put up in a mall as a lounge for Ramadan shoppers to take a break. Ramadan is the month out of the year when all Muslims abstain from food or drink from sunrise until sundown. Ramadan is also when malls, shops and supermarkets enjoy their biggest sales of the year – much like the Christmas holiday season in the states. The tent is equipped with a plush carpet and comfortable Arab-style seating in the way of floor cushions. Ramadan just began and will end in one month.

Susie: Are you allowed to sit on the lounge?

  2. Dina says:

Ah, so that’s your “boy.” Very nice!

Is that custom based on the old “divan”?

  3. Geogypsy says:

That’s a comfy looking rest area. Seems it would be practical all year long.

Beautiful lounge and photo! Is that one of your 2 favourite Saudi men resting up for more shopping? 🙂

    • Yes, it sure is – I took a shot of it empty too, but it looked so much better with Captain Kabob in it!

      • Chiara says:

Yes, I thought that looked like Captain Kabob (who has matured alot since his photo with Abu Captain Kabob on your other blog) serving to improve the photo, and “model” the furnishings! Handsome young man!

Beautiful lounge! Interesting rest station like none I’ve ever seen at the “Mall of America” located 15 minutes from me. Maybe I should suggest it; as America’s largest mall, they would certainly have the space!
