The Supplication at Night

The Supplication is one of the most famous public art sculptures in the city of Jeddah. Many of the public artwork pieces have a religious theme and bear verses from the Holy Quran, as this one does on its plinth. This bigger than lifesize set of praying hands is made of marble and was designed by artist Mahmoud Banat. At night, the city of Jeddah springs to life with neon and colored lights everywhere. Many of the beautiful sculptures are lit up with colored flood lights and the effects are very dramatic. To see a previous post featuring this same sculpture in the daylight, click here.
