With the climax of the annual Hajj comes one of the two religious holidays celebrated by Muslims. I saw many shops in the mall with what appeared to be symbolic Christmas decorations of large shiny ornaments and gift boxes in yuletide colors. Here in Saudi Arabia, no other religions are allowed to be practised other than Islam.
About This Blog, and About Me: Susie of Arabia
Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is KSA's 2nd largest city and is located on its west coast, right on the Red Sea. I moved here in 2007 with my Saudi hubby. This journal reflects the things that I see here, life through my eyes, my lens.
Please be sure to also visit my other blog, SUSIE OF ARABIA (formerly SUSIE'S BIG ADVENTURE), which relates my experiences, thoughts, and observations about living in Saudi Arabia.

When and where could a woman wear a dress like those? Who would even buy one?
I have seen women here dressed in anything and everything. When there are women only functions, whether at private homes or in huge halls, you can expect to see almost anything!
Oh I miss Debenhams! Seems to be everywhere, but not here in Spain.
Who gets to wear all these sylish looking clothes?
Saudi women are VERY stylish underneath those long black cloaks ~ they dress up for other women at women’s only gatherings or for their husbands in private.
