Boys on the Loose

I see little boys out on the streets all by themselves the time here, riding bikes or playing, but the only little girls I ever see out on their own are foreign nationals who are so poor that they are out on the streets helping their families financially by selling something like gum or dish towels. Crimes against children happen here, but not at the same alarming frequency as in the West. So I guess the parents here feel safe by letting their boys out on their own like this. Not me though…

I like the way you composed this picture. Happy Birthday to your son from a snowy mountain in Arizona.

    Happy Birthday to Captain Kabob!
I used to play all over town in the 1940’s. But wouldn’t let my children out alone now.

Happy Birthday Captain Kabob! That is such a universal and classic boy picture–makes me think of all my nephews Moroccan and Canadian!

  4. Captain Kabob – Happy Birthday! I remember playing all afternoon around the neighborhood as a kid but the world is different now!

What a classic image–in any culture! Great stuff, Susie.
