Fake Palm

I guess there are logical reasons why fake palm trees are seen here in Saudi Arabia, where real palm trees do rather well naturally – I just can’t think of any right now…

    Perhaps it’s part of the schizophrenia that runs rampant across the country.

    I mean, if you have real palm trees, with naked coconuts hanging down like that, well one would have to cut ’em off, give them 50 lashes, and then burn the suckers!

    So, if the palm trees are fake, it’s no problem. Who cares about fake palm trees. In fact, I’ll bet nobody pays any attention to their naked coconuts! Right?
