Saudi Arabia desires to become a world leader in sciences and technology. This past year KAUST (King Abdullah University for Sciences and Technology) opened in the hopes that it will in the next few years become the number one post graduate center for study and research in those fields. I haven’t made it out to this amazing institution yet, but I hope to soon. In the meantime, this is a photo of the Jeddah Science and Technology Center, designed to spark young minds to develop interests in the various fields of science. I haven’t been there yet, but I hear it’s pretty cool.
About This Blog, and About Me: Susie of Arabia
Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is KSA's 2nd largest city and is located on its west coast, right on the Red Sea. I moved here in 2007 with my Saudi hubby. This journal reflects the things that I see here, life through my eyes, my lens.
Please be sure to also visit my other blog, SUSIE OF ARABIA (formerly SUSIE'S BIG ADVENTURE), which relates my experiences, thoughts, and observations about living in Saudi Arabia.

What a fun building. It definitely makes me want to go inside.
It was so cool. I enjoyed it a lot as a child and believe it helped me and a lot of people. Unfortunately it wasn’t making any profits so it has to be shut down. A great facility like this should be open for public for free. I’m afraid the building might be converted to a mall, that makes fast money. Education doesn’t
I know all too well about what you are saying – my husband is a teacher…
Yeah … it’s true ,,, it’s closed. It’s was originally donated by a business man to the city. it seems he got greedy and wanted to get back his piece of land so he can build his own high rise building, like every body else… sciences what! sciences my balls that what he said to jeddah’s mayor … LOL.
How sad! But I like the way you tell the story!!!
I lived about 3 minutes from there. I could see it through my bedroom window!
I really dug the dinosaur exhibitions they used to hold there.
Truly an awesome place of what I remember of it.
I used to go there a lot as a child. Now I hear that they shut it down!
Oh no! What a shame if it is closed. I wonder if it has anything to do with the newer facility that opened a couple of years ago, near Madinah Road…
