Safe Trip and Happy Returns

This double archway stands over one of the highways leading to and from the Jeddah Airport. It reads “Safe Trip and Happy Returns” in both English and Arabic when going either direction.

Although this might not be the right place for my comment, your photo made me think about the state of Jeddah’s so-called foriegn airlines terminal in King Abdulaziz International Airport. I don’t know if it’s just me or did other people, including you Susie, have noticed that it urgently needs some modernaisation. I have been to many airports worldwide and have never seen one worse than that terminal.

That is a nice sentiment. Is there a special (like old, or Quranic) way to say that in Arabic?
Like we still use the Biblical sayings, “Go in [or literally, TO] peace” and then “Blessed is your returning.”

The double archway is located near the Royal Terminal.
