About This Blog, and About Me: Susie of Arabia
Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is KSA's 2nd largest city and is located on its west coast, right on the Red Sea. I moved here in 2007 with my Saudi hubby. This journal reflects the things that I see here, life through my eyes, my lens.
Please be sure to also visit my other blog, SUSIE OF ARABIA (formerly SUSIE'S BIG ADVENTURE), which relates my experiences, thoughts, and observations about living in Saudi Arabia.

SkyWatch: Terra Cotta Mosque
I really liked the composition of this photo of the unusually colored terra cotta mosque which is partially obscured by the trees. In general, the majority of mosques in Saudi Arabia are white, so seeing mosques in other colors is … Continue reading

Another Unusual Building
I don’t think I’ve ever seen another building quite like this one. The whole front facade is mostly green and blue diagonally striped glass, and then there are these curved and outlined architectural details that stick out from the top … Continue reading

Blue Dome Mosque
This mosque appears to be under construction. I think it will be quite beautiful when it is completed. The shiny blue domes are gorgeous and I love the floral tile border details.

The Gatekeeper
Sometimes I just point my camera out the car window here and click away as we are driving by, not really knowing what I am capturing until we get home and I get the photos up on my computer screen. … Continue reading

Skywatch: Tiled Arches and Moon
One late afternoon recently, my son and I were enjoying the outdoors in a lovely park adjacent to the hospital where my husband recently underwent open heart surgery (he’s doing well). The park is filled with palm trees and seating … Continue reading

Family Sculpture
I’m not really sure about this sculpture, but it is similar to another one I found which is called “Family.” A series of white marble sculptures were completed for the city of Jeddah by a group of Belgian artists, and … Continue reading
