Sky Filled Heart Sculpture

Some of the sculptures of Jeddah follow a heart theme. This is because the Mayor of Jeddah in the 1980s, Mohammed Said Farsi, who was responsible for the Jeddah Beautification Project and commissioned most of the works of art around the city, suffered a heart attack himself. After his medical scare, he commissioned several sculptures pertaining to the heart. This one is in North Jeddah, in the Obhur area where many beach resorts are located. I like the blue sky and clouds in this photo too – I think it goes great with the heart.
