Hanging Out After School

A group of school boys hangs out after school. They’re enjoying a nice cold drink outside a small convenience store where they purchased cold drinks. Boys generally wear the long white dress (called thobe) to school. Some wear loose white pants underneath and others wear long pants in other colors, like blue or black. It’s common to see young boys hanging out like this, but you will never see girls hanging around like this in Saudi Arabia.

I was at school in Jeddah at around there age, and I used to wear typical Western-style pants and t-shirts underneath the thobe, simple because after school me and friends would usually play basketball or soccer or something.

Alot of boys didn’t wear thwe thobe except at school, especially foreign boys (Egyptians, Sudanese, Syrians, etc…)

I just wanna comment that those who wear long pants other than white, are usually school boys who have sports class at that day.
It’s usually something that kids until 3rd grade do, because of all the trouble of changing and stuff.
But those boys in the picture are too old for this..

    Nice shot anyway 🙂
