It’s All in the Detail

The various corners of this gorgeous hospital – International Medical Center – in Jeddah all display this beautiful and interesting architectural detail. The building was designed by one of the most famous architects of the Middle Eastern region, Dr. Sami Angawi, who is an expert in the field of Islamic architecture. Many elements of ancient Middle Eastern design have been incorporated into this exquisite modern marvel, such as marble tile mosaics, arches, lattice work, metal cut-out lamp lighting, beams, and glass etching.
Happy Birthday to my baby brother Barry!

the details are intricate and fantastic. is this a common thing back there?

    • I can’t say that I have seen this detail as something common here. Sometimes buildings here are overdone, with way too much detailing and excessive extravagance, but this one was done with such good taste.
