Popeye’s in Arabic

This might be one large chain restaurant that you might be surprised to see here in Saudi Arabia – Popeye’s. There is also KFC, but judging from my observations, the Saudi chicken restaurant chain called Al-Baik is the most popular.

Where’s this place?? i missed this restaurant 😦

  2. Al-Baik chicked is phenomenal! I grew up in Jeddah…I know it’s much different now though.

I’m a bit perplexed, there used to be Popeyes chain restaurants long, long time ago in Jeddah when I was a kid then they all disappeared. The logo looks much different from the one in your picture and judging by their failure, people indeed preferred the local, much cheaper alternative of Al Baik.

I remember having al-baik chicken a couple of times when I was there and it was delicious. I wish they’d come to the states, I would definitely go there over kfc!

You need to change the title of your blog to ‘Drive-by shootings in Saudi’ lololol

Looks like strip malls, bad architecture and weird sculptures everywhere… and citizens loafing about doing nothing. Looks nearly the same here in Libya but the people are a lot poorer. We’ve got less sculptures and a whole lot more pictures of the Leader… sigh…
