Burger Sign in Arabic

Because such a large percentage of the population here in Saudi Arabia consists of foreign workers, much of the signage for businesses also includes very colorful visual graphics, elaborating what type of business the sign represents.

    Burgers in Saudi are usually grilled and mixed with spices and it is totally different than the once in the States.
    The national food in Jeddah is fish this is why you will see it added in many restaurants and this restaurant offers fish burger and shrimp burger!!!!

    It is my understanding that there are rather high rates of illiteracy among the older population. Usually such signs are used where a high enough portion of the local population is illiterate. The pictures always help me though, where the signs are in Arabic only, especially since my Arabic reading skills don’t include “circumcision” though I do recognize the medical symbols assuring professional expertise. 😀
