Billboard Ad


While alcohol is strictly forbidden by the religion in this country, many products are packaged to resemble and imitate forbidden items. “Near Beer” is very popular in this country and comes in a variety of flavors – and is quite refreshing in this brutally hot climate.

    Oh cool, now it’s available in a green tea flavor. It’s funny I’m studying abroad now, but despite the fact that regular beer is found quite freely here, they’ve started importing the non-alcoholic stuff too, and it’s actually starting to catch on. Mostly enjoyed by the muslim population here. I guess they can finally enjoy a night on the town putting away a couple of drinks with their non-muslim brethren. 🙂

    Uhm, actually these aren’t imitation. They are a special malt brew and are sold as non-alcoholic beer. You can even find non-alcoholic Budweiser here.
