Banners in the Wind Sculpture

This is another sculpture made by Spanish architect and artist Julio Lafuente. Made from scrap metal harvested from two old water condensers that were the first of its kind to supply fresh water to the City of Jeddah, “Banners in the Wind” features the victorious flags of some of the historic conquering Arab armies. The different symbols topping the flagstaffs represent the icons of several different Arab troops. Much of the amazing public art sculptures that decorate the streets of Jeddah are fashioned from recycled materials.
