Toki Chinese Restaurant

I recently spent an enjoyable evening out with the girls at this upscale Chinese restaurant in Jeddah. I wasn’t allowed by the management to take photos of the interior – it was clean, elegant, modern, tasteful, minimalist, and very Feng Shui. On the long wall above the tables running the entire length of the restaurant was a stunning mosaic tile mural of large pink and red roses. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable. The ladies powder room was equally as impressive – ultra modern, dark, rich, and minimalist. The photos I discreetly took inside the restroom, however, didn’t do it justice at all.
For those of you in Jeddah looking for a special place for a special evening, Toki Chinese Restaurant is located right behind Laylati II Ballroom off of Malik Road.

I don’t get why some establishments forbid picture taking. Dont’ they know that as bloggers we advertise their place for free?

    • The reason I was given is that so other restaurants won’t copy their interiors, which makes absolutely no sense since a rival competitor can go and eat at other restaurants in person to get ideas. I have been given this reason several times and to me, it just seems idiotic.

        Maybe it is about privacy

      • Hala – There was a whole section of the restaurant that was empty and I asked specifically to take photos of the empty section. The answer from the manager was that it is company policy not to allow photos so the design won’t be copied by other restaurants.
