Jeddah Streetlight

A large part of Jeddah sports this style of streetlights. I think they are really unique and I love the intricate wrought iron details. Wrought iron is very popular here in Saudi Arabia.

    A nice touch.
    What’s on top, cameras?

    • Sure looks like they could be cameras, but if they were, I would think they would be pointed in opposite directions, no? Whatever they are, they are newer and definitely added later.

I like the idea but I wonder about how well these are made, the light on the right looks a bit out of alignment.

    • I don’t know how well these are made, but there are tons of wrought iron businesses here and it is very common on almost every building in some form or another. Much of the workmanship is beautiful at first glance, but upon closer examination, it’s usually sloppily done.
