Neighborhood Vegetable Market

Sidewalk neighborhood vegetable markets are set up just about anywhere here in Jeddah. They are convenient and inexpensive. Many of these little stands are mobile and can be moved easily from one place to another. While prices for fresh produce has slowly climbed in the past couple of years, the overall cost of food here in Saudi Arabia is markedly cheaper than in the states.

I love street markets. Are you allowed to shop here?

    • Yes, although at many of these little markets, customers just drive up and don’t even get out of their cars if they don’t want to. The vendor brings whatever the customer wants over to the car, gets paid, and the customer drives away.
