Jeddah has many textile shops like this that sell carpets, linens, prayer rugs, and towels. Shopkeepers tend to hover too closely to offer assistance in hopes of making a sale. Many shops are crammed with merchandise stacked from the floor to the ceiling, which makes it difficult to see and appreciate an item which might be toward the bottom of the pile.
About This Blog, and About Me: Susie of Arabia
Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is KSA's 2nd largest city and is located on its west coast, right on the Red Sea. I moved here in 2007 with my Saudi hubby. This journal reflects the things that I see here, life through my eyes, my lens.
Please be sure to also visit my other blog, SUSIE OF ARABIA (formerly SUSIE'S BIG ADVENTURE), which relates my experiences, thoughts, and observations about living in Saudi Arabia.

Fun to catch up on your blog, Susie of Arabia!
Prayer rugs – love ’em! I bought another one when I was in Jaipur, India in January for the Jaipur Daily Photo blogger’s wedding!
Leif – That is so cool that you went to Bharat’s wedding in India!!! He must have felt very special to have you come all the way from Eagan to Jaipur. What a wonderful memory for both of you. I love the photos you posted. The Indian culture is so colorful.
I’ll bet those shopkeepers would dig to the bottom to show off their wares.
