New White Mosque

This new white mosque has just finished completion near downtown Jeddah. Beautiful, isn’t it? I had published a photo of this same mosque in the process of being built a while back. If you’d like to compare photos, here’s the link of the older post.

I just posted a comment about a smaller mosque. This larger mosque is a good example of what seems to work better. Perhaps because it is larger it looks more in keeping with its surroundings. I think the white works better than the yellowish color of the other.

    • Hi Jerry – I would say that the majority of mosques here in KSA are white, so seeing mosques in different colors is more unusual. This one is in an area with lots of new construction. Many times the mosque is built first and then buildings and homes are built surrounding the mosque, so they are not as easily visible unless you dive right past it. The white one and the goldish colored mosques are not that far from each other and the whole area is booming.
