About This Blog, and About Me: Susie of Arabia
Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is KSA's 2nd largest city and is located on its west coast, right on the Red Sea. I moved here in 2007 with my Saudi hubby. This journal reflects the things that I see here, life through my eyes, my lens.
Please be sure to also visit my other blog, SUSIE OF ARABIA (formerly SUSIE'S BIG ADVENTURE), which relates my experiences, thoughts, and observations about living in Saudi Arabia.

Towering minarets make mosques easily visible and identifiable. At night most minarets are usually lit up with green lights, although some might use white or another color. Loud speakers attached to the minarets make the five daily calls to prayer … Continue reading
I have featured many mosque minarets on this blog (I have a “thing” for them), but I don’t believe I have ever seen one like this one before – the pointed top section is totally illuminated from the inside.
At twilight, the mosques around the city of Jeddah begin to light up their minarets, mostly with green lights. The five daily calls to prayer are announced over the loudspeakers placed atop the minarets for all to hear. Most minarets … Continue reading
Not much of a photo, but I do like the way the minaret with its crescent moon topper is silhouetted against the evening sky and the way the sun reflects on the glass of the building. To fly MORE friendly … Continue reading
