This Jeddah sculpture is called The Flower. It is a fountain and sits in the middle of a large roundabout of a busy intersection of the city. The fountain is turned on in the evenings and it is lit up with purple lights. I’ve seen many people enjoying the grassy areas surrounding the sculpture at various times. Jeddah is well known for its overabundance of beautiful and interesting public works of art for all to enjoy.

I am an American woman. I met my husband more than 30 years ago when we were both college students in Arizona. So after all that time in the states, my hubby desired to move back to his native home of Saudi Arabia. I've been in Jeddah now since October 2007. My new home is amazing: interesting, fascinating, and colorful. The people are warm, courteous and as interested in me as I am in them, however they highly regard their privacy. My camera goes with me every time I step out the door - I don't want to miss a thing!

Hi Susie, just wanted to thank you for allowing us to “click to enlarge” your photos. So much more to see, did you notice the ladder on the roof in the background?
Enjoy your time at home in the USA.
