I have written quite a bit about the fact that women are not allowed to drive here in Saudi Arabia, while allowing little boys who can’t even see over the steering to drive here seems to be no problem at all. But did you know that Saudi ranks DEAD LAST in the whole world in regard to traffic safety? Hmmm – maybe it’s because of all the testosterone on the roads here? I’ve also written about the disproportionate number of taxis here in this country and the number of foreign men brought in to man those taxis. Well, when half of the population is restricted from driving, taxis do a booming business. Taxi service owners certainly don’t want to see the ban against women driving here lifted for obvious reasons.
