This is just one of hundreds of works of art enhancing the landscape in the city of Jeddah. Known as home to the world’s largest open air art museum, Jeddah proudly displays amazing artwork for all to see, scattered throughout the city streets. Made of steel and glass, The Illuminated Globe, as it is called, showcases a busy roundabout in northwest Jeddah where a popular mall is located. It was designed by Julio Lafuente, a Spanish artist and architect who created almost two dozen works of art for the city.
About This Blog, and About Me: Susie of Arabia
Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is KSA's 2nd largest city and is located on its west coast, right on the Red Sea. I moved here in 2007 with my Saudi hubby. This journal reflects the things that I see here, life through my eyes, my lens.
Please be sure to also visit my other blog, SUSIE OF ARABIA (formerly SUSIE'S BIG ADVENTURE), which relates my experiences, thoughts, and observations about living in Saudi Arabia.

Hi Harry – Thanks, and Thanks! Hubby chuckled at the “wise” word!
Susie, just uploaded a photo of this globe, as I took in 1984.
Referred to this page again. Guess that’ll be OK.
I saw your photo and your wise husband I saw as well, a nice couple you are !
Salaam
Harry
